Jazz Freelancing : Drum Set
Laurel has been performing in jazz trios, combos, and large bands since 2001. She graduated from Sonoma State University with Distinction in Jazz Studies, and emphasis on drum set.
Freelance Percussion
Laurel has performed in the pit in a variety of contexts including: pit orchestra for musical theater companies such as San Diego Musical Theatre, timpani for the San Diego City Ballet, and as a special guest for San Diego Women’s Chorus, and much more! Laurel plays stick percussion, mallet percussion, and hand drums.
Indonesian Gamelan
Laurel is the Director of the Javanese gamelan ensembles at San Diego State University and Canyon Crest Academy High School. She has experience performing Central Javanese gamelan, West Javanese gamelan degung, and Balinese anklung, gender wayang, rindik, and selonding.
